Amerie was discovered by producer Rich Harrison who produced and wrote her debut album All I Have almost entirely. Her debut single Why Don't We Fall In Love was a summer hit. Her sophomore album was produced by Rich Harrison again and spawned the international single 1 Thing which is Amerie's biggest hit to date. In 2007, Amerie released her third album Because I Love It. While the album received rave reviews from music critics, it got little to no promotional support by Sony Columbia, Amerie's then record label. As a result, she moved in 2008 to Def Jam and began recording new material which eventually became In Love & War, released in 2009. In Love & War spawned three singles, including Heard 'Em All with Lil' Wayne. In 2010 Amerie changed her scene name for Ameriie and released two songs off her next album Cymatika Vol. 1, Who's Gonna Love U? and Outside Your Body.
